I have always loved creating small floral arrangements to brighten up my space, as a teenager I would make our Holiday wreaths and help my Mom hang the garlands on our porch at Christmas. Back then Maximalist looks were in, so I pulled out all the stops with glittery pinecones and ribbons! Nowadays I prefer more subtle decor, and naturally arranged vases. The key to nailing that look is skipping flowers and use greenery, or plants that might be in your area that you could forage. This winter floral arrangement is sure to brighten up your home or dining room! I love creating my own floral arrangements by using what I have on hand to create an affordable and beautiful vase for each season. For winter arrangements you can use faux plants from the Holidays such as eucalyptus, pine or berry pics instead of flowers. This is also a great time to create seasonal wreaths made from fern branches, pine cones, grape vines and more in order to decorate your home in beautiful new ways at this time of year. If you want to see how I created this in real time, be sure to check out my Instagram Reel here! I'd love to hear from you if you create your own version, so tag me on IG if you do. What You'll Need: Vase (my vase is thrifted) Gumdrop Eucalyptus Dried Eucalyptus branches Pine or Cedar Branches (mine are from last year) Berry Pics Wire Cutters (if pieces need trimmed)

Over the holidays I decided it was time to upgrade to some new rugs for our apartment. I scoured my local stores like TJMAXX, Marshalls and even Home Depot. Nothing was really clicking with me and the “Newstalgia” look I was going for in my home. Anytime I’m ready to upgrade my rugs I research every detail of a product, not just the overall look. I also need them to be easy to clean and care for in my busy household with high traffic areas. Enter Amazon, because that's where we all buy stuff anymore, right? I purchased two rugs from the Layla Collection. I started out with a small area rug for my bathroom, just to take the chill off of the floor in front of my sink and to test out the quality. I chose the Layla Collection LAY-03 in Olive/Charcoal. I found the rug to be absolutely gorgeous, a timeless design that resembles an Old World Rug at a fraction of the cost. It has sage green tones, olive, charcoal and a bit of salmon in the design. One week later, I was hooked on the look and went back to Amazon again for a living room rug! After all the Holidays were upon us and I knew I’d be taking lots of photos and having my family over for a visit. This time I chose the Layla Collection LAY-01 in Brick/Blue. This rug has a stunning medallion like design with rich brick tones and variations of blue. If you want to get thrifty, be sure to check out Facebook Market Place, or even Mercari local to score a Loloi rug at an even more affordable price and sustainable option too! I happened to come across the Terracotta Sky Rug from the Loren II Collection on New Years Day from Facebook Marketplace. The gal had just posted it for sale, and she uploaded the tiniest picture! I recognized the print and I was just holding my breath that it was in good condition! Needless to say, that Terracotta Sky rug came home with me and it was the perfect size for my bedroom. I'll be doing a bedroom makeover reveal sometime soon! The styles I chose are printed designs on a polyester base, with the look of hand knotted rugs. They are soft to the touch and a thin mat like construction. I would recommend grabbing some rug pads for that extra cushy feeling, and to protect the longevity of the rug. The rugs come in so many different textures and designs but all have a vintage worn look that can make any room cozy. If you need a rug for any room in your home, do yourself a favor and check out Loloi Rugs, You won’t be disappointed! From my home at the holidays... In our home we have the tiniest foyer area. The door to the outside opens right at the bottom of our steps and leads up to a small landing. This makes it super awkward to create a space to hang coats or a place for your shoes at the end of the day. I took to Pinterest for ideas on how to create that perfect entryway space, so that it’s both functional and pretty. The style idea that grabbed my attention the most was curating a tiny accent wall. Adding a mirror for a bit more light reflection, a shelf to display a collection or maybe a tray to drop keys in and hanging wall baskets in a natural material and take up no space on the floor . I wanted an area that was both aesthetically pleasing and functional. I am so excited to have a vintage modern entryway nook for decorating and a dedicated place for my keys and such. I’ve put together two ways to style this vignette along with the pieces I have purchased and others I have my eye on! Here I have it all decked out for the holidays! The baskets are proving to be useful for all my gloves and hats for sure. I will tell you that the floating shelf is absolutely beautiful and very sturdy, but can be tricky to install. Luckily my fiancé is handy and has a background in construction, so he knew which drill bit to buy to secure the shelf to the wall. I’ll add the links below for the items I purchased or a similar alternative. Here are a few more ideas that you can use to carve out the perfect entry way for your small home!
